When was the last time you did something you were afraid of?

When was the last time you challenged yourself?

Challenging ourselves as difficult as it gets can be a tremendous opportunity. Fear, should not hold us back when it comes to doing things we have no doubt would make us smarter, wiser and greater in spirit. Fear is an indicator. Sometimes it shows us what we should not do. Often it shows us exactly what we should do.

One of the things that sadden me most is seeing individuals with tremendous potential who do not take concrete steps closer to their aspirations. I have observed throughout the years that this inaction often comes from fear. Fear not to be good enough, fear of change, fear to deceive, fear not to deserve something, fear of being alone or fear of failure for instance.

What if we consciously decide to let go of those walls of fears built around us? Because setting our own standards and living accordingly is the best thing we could do for ourselves. Sometimes others will not understand our moves and that is ok. It is not their place and it is not our job to justify as long as we are true to ourselves.


Why is it important to challenge ourselves?

– It is empowering and it will make us prouder of ourselves, causing a natural feeling of self-realisation  

– We deserve not to let fear hold us back, to live a fulfilling life


How you could we start?

Understanding that, it is all right to fail, failing is not a fatality, it is by failing that we learn and grow. Nothing positive comes from being constantly inactive. Fail, learn, master the lessons, pick yourself up and try again.

Think about the worst-case scenario. What is the worst thing that could happen out of that situation? If you can find a solution then you can handle it. By thinking about the worst-case scenario, we learn that the things we fear aren’t as big as we imagine them to be. We learn to understand our fears.



Write down

– Those things that take you or your body out of your comfort zone that you fear doing but that would be extremely beneficial for you.

– Those things you love or dream of doing but do not do because of fear, lack of trust or patience.

Last but not least, let’s not overthink situations that did not happen yet! Let’s take things step by step.
